Frank Middlemass

Frank Middlemass (born May 28, 1919 in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, England), is a British actor.

Frank Middlemass has had a long and distinguished career as an actor, including appearing in plays by William Shakespeare.

He has had varied roles in films and television, from drama to comedy.

He appeared as Mr. Rivers in the Doctor in the House sequel series Doctor at Large, in the episode "Students at Heart".

He appeared in the major role as Dr. Alex Ferrenby, in the television series Heartbeat.

He is perhaps best known, now, for his role as "Rocky" Hardcastle in the television comedy series As Time Goes By.
