Frazier Chorus

Encyclopedia : F : FR : FRA : Frazier Chorus

Frazier Chorus is a rock band from Brighton, England.

Originally a four-piece, they signed to British indie label 4AD and released one single, "Sloppy Heart" on that label in 1988. Shortly afterwards they moved to Virgin Records, and achieved reasonable chart success with a string of melodic pop singles about dream kitchens, Happy Eaters and Little Chefs, all from the 1989 album "Sue".

With the emergence of the indie-dance scene in the early 1990s the band changed track as one female member left the band and singles from their second album Ray were remixed into indie-dance floorfillers by a number of top remixers. The band were restyled from the fey indiepop band of 1989 into an act more like The Beloved and If?.

Singer Tim Freeman released a third album as Frazier Chorus which didn't reach the charts as it was released years after Ray on a small indie label, whilst Kate Holmes progressed into true electronica via the bands Technique and Client. Tim Freeman was also responsible for "the rudest record of all time", 2005's disgustingly catchy 12", "Wild Wild Child" (Marine Parade).

Tim Freeman is the brother of Martin Freeman, the british actor who starred in the multi award winning series "The Office", written by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. Martin's Character "Tim" is based on Tim.
