Fried fish refers to any fish that has been prepared by deep frying or pan frying. Often, the fish is covered in batter, or flour, or herbs and spices before being fried.
Fish is fried in many parts of the world, and fried fish is an important dish in many cuisines. Well-known examples include sole meunière and trout meunière, fish and chips, fried catfish, and the Cajun blackened fish pioneered by Paul Prudhomme.
