As of November 302005, the city has an estimated population of 104,937 (42,767 households) and a population density of approximately 5,327 persons per km². The total area is 19.70 km².
The city was founded on April 101972.
The city is served by Fujimino Station on the Tobu Tojo Line from Ikebukuro in Tokyo.
