Funbari no Uta

Encyclopedia : F : FU : FUN : Funbari no Uta

Funbari no Uta (ふんばりの詩 The Song/poem of Funbari) is a series of short stories written by Hiroyuki Takei relating to the manga series Shaman King.

Funbari no Uta and consists mainly of Yoh Asakura, Anna Kyōyama, and their life together at Flame Inn (Minshuku En), a Japanese traditional inn.

Most of the characters of Shaman King only ever appeared in the final story in Funbari no Uta, and in the final "episode" (which is set seven years later (2007) after the Shaman Tournament) introduces the character of Hana Asakura(six years old), the son of Yoh and Anna (whose name is a formed from "Ha", another prononciation of the character from Yoh's name, and "Na" from Anna's name. It also means "flower" in Japanese). The last story also features Hana and Ryunosuke Umemiya (also known as "Wooden Sword" Ryu) who are collecting five warriors for a special rendezvous.

Character Changes

An interview with Takei confirms this notion. Anna's hair has also grown longer and she seems to have matured both physically and mentally.

Conception of Hana

If Yoh and Anna are now 21, and Hana is 6, this would mean that they had sex at about age 14 or 15. In the original Shaman King manga, the night before Yoh leaves for the America, Anna asks if she could sleep beside him. Also, Amidamaru gave them their privacy for the night. It is very likely that this is when they had sex.
