Furnace (or Welsh Ffwrnes) is a village and an area of the town of Llanelli in the county of Carmarthenshire, Wales[Carmarthenshire County Council: Area and density of Community Wards]. Furnace is named after the furnace built by Alexander Raby before the village was actually established. The main furnace still remains and is open to the pubic as a local heritage site[Llanelli Community Heritage on Ffurnace and it's furnace.].
It is under the authority of Carmarthenshire County Council and Llanelli Rural Council[Llanelli Rural Council].
