Gérard D. Laflaque

Encyclopedia : G : GR : GRA : Gérard D. Laflaque

Gérard D. Laflaque is a fictional character created by Quebec caricaturist Serge Chapleau. Gérard is the main character of the animated series Et Dieu créa Laflaque broadcasted by Radio-Canada since 2004.

Gérard was first created as a puppet, along with his wife Georgette, for a segment in a show called Mirroir Mirroir in 1980. He became better known in La Minute a Laflaque, a series of very brief(one minute long, actually) shorts broadcasted between shows on Radio Quebec (now known as Télé-Québec) in 1982.

He was also the co-host of a humour show called Casse-Tête in the late 80s.

His puppet form was dropped with his new show, Et Dieu créa Laflaque. The character is now rendered in 3D.
