G7 (guitar software)
Encyclopedia : G : G7 : G7G : G7 (guitar software)
G7 is a computer program for Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh for writing guitar music and songs, developed by UK software company Sibelius Software. It is based on the Sibelius notation program.
It allows the user to write and play back standard music notation and guitar tablature notation, print it out, and publish it on the Internet. It features an on-screen guitar fretboard which users can use to input notes and chords or to visualise how they are played. Additionally, G7 can open and create ASCII tab and MIDI files, and can create audio files for burning to CD.
G7 is presumably named for the common guitar chord called G7.
