GEAR PRO Linux is a CD and DVD authoring software program for Linux. It is designed to enable the creation CDs or DVDs of any type, including CD Audio, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, or DVD-Video discs. It is also a CD and DVD burning software program, capable of recording (burning) CDs or DVDs of any format (CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R DL, DVD+R DL, and DVD-RAM) to any CD or DVD recorders.
GEAR Software was one of the pioneers in the development of CD and DVD recording software, beginning in 1986 with a grant from the European Commission. The company started as Elektroson. GEAR’s software library is licensed to other software developers, and is incorporated in many products, such as Symantec Ghost, and Apple's iTunes for Windows.
GEAR PRO Linux supports all common Linux kernel releases and distributions. It provides a graphical user interface, and a command line interface with scripting capabilities.
