GE C30-7

Encyclopedia : G : GE : GEC : GE C30-7

The GE C30-7 is an 6-axle 3,000 horsepower diesel locomotive built by GE Transportation Systems between 1976 and 1985. 1,137 examples of this locomotive were built for North American railroads.

The early models of the C30-7 had four windows on each side of the cab, but in 1980 rules were enacted for making windows "projectile resistant" eliminated the outer windows in later production and those same windows were filled in with sheet metal on the early units.
