GT Interactive was an American video game developer founded in 1993 and headquartered in New York City. It was bought by French company Infogrames Entertainment SA (IESA) in 1999.
Following its purchase by IESA, GT Interactive was renamed Infogrames, Inc. and became the official North American subsidiary of the company. In 2001 Infogrammes absorbed Hasbro Interactive, owner of the Atari brand. As of October 2001, Infogrames, Inc. started releasing random games under the Atari name.
Infogrames, Inc. was subsequently renamed Atari, Inc. in 2003, and continues to operate under the brand to this day.
