Gallic, derived from the name for the ancient Roman province of Gaul, may be used

as Gaulish, referring to Gaul or to the Gaulish language
as referring to Roman Gaul
as referring to the Gallic Empire
as referring to France
as a linguistic-cultural term, to the cultural traditions and national characters of the French speaking (francophone) nations and regions, transcending race and ethnicity. Some important Gallic regions include France, Wallonia, Haïti, and Québec.
