Gamaliel VI
Encyclopedia : G : GA : GAM : Gamaliel VI
Gamaliel VI was the last nasi.
When he died in 425, Emperor Theodosius II did not allow the appointment of a successor, thereby terminating the position. With him, therefore, the office expired. It had already been robbed of its privileges by a decree of the emperors Honorius and Theodosius (dated the 17th of October 415). Gamaliel VI was also a physician, and a celebrated remedy of his is mentioned by his contemporary Marcellus.
