Gamers With Jobs is a non-commercial computer and video game website co-founded in January 2003 by Shawn Andrich and Sean Sands, former News Editors from the gaming website [Evil Avatar]. Andrich and Sands (who use the forum nicknames "Certis" and "Elysium") established Gamers With Jobs with the goal of providing a wide range of content relevant to the adult gamer, and a mature online community supportive of all aspects of gamer culture.
Site Content
The front page at Gamers With Jobs is host to regular articles on computer and video-game related subjects, updated each weekday. A small group of writers, including Andrich and Sands, contribute reviews, commentary, news, interviews and other content to the page. Gamers With Jobs staff also attend the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3, and provide coverage of the event. From August 2005 to April 2006, Gamers With Jobs was host to a weekly radio podcast, [GWJ Radio]. GWJ Radio was produced in cooperation with [InsomniaCorp] by Russ "Fletcher" Pitts. Pitts, a former Producer and Head Writer for TechTV's The Screen Savers, was at the time a Content Editor for Gamers With Jobs. Pitts and Andrich typically hosted the show, while Pitts and GWJ community member and musician [Ian "Podunk" Dorsch] provided music for the podcast through GWJ Radio's New Music Program. Musicians submitted music for the program through InsomniaCorp. In April 2006 GWJ Radio abruptly came to a standstill when Russ "Fletcher" Pitts left to pursue a career at The Escapist (magazine). As of July 24, 2006, The Escapist, in association with InsomniaCorp, will begin producing Escape Radio, which like GWJ radio will feature the talents of Pitts, Andritch, and Dorsch.
From February 2003 to September 2004, Gamers With Jobs featured [Infinite Lives], the work of writer and cartoonist Sway. Though Sway is no longer a regular contributor to Gamers With Jobs, the Infinite Lives archives remain at the site.
