Gang of Seven

The Gang of Seven refers to a group of conservative Republican U.S. Representatives, elected in 1990. The group loudly condemned the House banking scandal and the Congressional Post Office Scandal. They also criticised Congressional perks such as subsidies for the Capitol Barbershop and Senate Restaurant.
The members included:
- John Boehner (OH-08, current House Majority Leader)
- John Doolittle (CA-04)
- Scott Klug (WI-08, left congress in 1999)
- Jim Nussle (IA-01, currently Chair of the House Budget Committee and candidate for Governor of Iowa)
- Frank Riggs (CA-01, left congress for an unsuccessful US Senate race in 1998)
- Charles H. Taylor (NC-11)
- Rick Santorum (PA-18, currently a member of the US Senate)
