George Bacovia

George Bacovia is the pseudonym used by the Romanian poet George Vasiliu (1881–1957).

George Vasiliu was born in Bacău on 4 September 1881, the son of a merchant, Dimitrie Vasiliu, and Zoia Langa. in 1928 he married Agatha Grigorescu and moved to Bucharest. He died on 22 May 1957 in Bucharest.
