Georges de Feure

Georges de Feure, painter, theatrical designer, and industrial art designer in the Art Nouveau style, born in Paris 6th Sept., 1868 and died 1928, also in Paris. His parents were Dutch and Belgian.
De Feure was taught by Jules Chéret and a protegé of Pierre Puvis de Chavannes. He showed work in the Munich Secession exhibition in 1896. He designed furniture, worked for newspapers, and created theater designs for Le Chat Noir cabaret. Later in his career de Feure was Professor of Decorative Art at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
