Georgia Tann
Encyclopedia : G : GE : GEO : Georgia Tann
Georgia Tann (died 1950) operated the Tennessee Children's Home Society in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s until a federal investigation closed the institution in 1950. She was a notorious dealer in black-market babies, literally stealing infants -- mostly from poor single mothers -- and selling them to wealthy patrons, among them Joan Crawford.
