Getronics N.V. (Euronext: [GTN]) is a computer engineering and systems company whose activity is focused in three areas: maintenance outsourcing, network and telecommunications and system integration. The company has a direct presence in 30 countries worldwide, with further 90 countries served through partner agreements.
Getronics is a global company that is one of the world’s leading providers of vendor independent information and Communication Technology (ICT) solution services. They design, integrate and manage ICT infrastructures and business solutions for many of the world’s largest global and local companies and organizations. They help to maximize the value of their information technology investments. Getronics has over 28,000 employees in 450 cities with offices in 30 countries and the headquarters is in Amsterdam, with regional offices in Boston, Madrid and Singapore. Getronics NV, a $2.8 billion company, provides information and communication technology (ICT) solutions and services to the e-business world. The firm's history began with the incorporation of Groeneveld, Van der Pol & Co.'s Elektrotechnische Fabriek N.V. in 1887. Groeneveld installed control and technical equipment for the shipbuilding, utilities and construction industries. From there, over the next century, the company went through a number of transformations and name changes, becoming Geveke Electronics NV in 1985, then Getronics NV in 1988. In 1999 Getronics acquired Wang, and with it an international market.
