Gifton Noel-Williams, born January 21, 1980 in Islington is a Burnley F.C. striker. He started his professional career on August 1, 1996 at Watford. There he had a seven year spell playing 127 games and scoring 43 goals.
For the first three seasons of his career he was playing well and was tipped to get an England cap. He was Watford's top goalscorer in the 1998-1999 season. However, when he was just 19 years old he was seriously injured by a challenge from the then Sunderland defender, Paul Butler. As a result of the injury he developed arthritis in both his knees, which has hindered his career.
He then joined Stoke City on a free transfer on June 2, 2003 where he had a two year spell playing 83 games and scoring 23 goals. He was Stoke City's top goalscorer in the 2004-2005 season scoring 11 goals.
On the June 14, 2005 he joined Burnley on a free transfer where he has played 30 games and scored 2 goals. This lack of form and lack of goalscoring talent has made him unpopular with the Burnley crowd. Noel-Williams is currently on loan at fellow Championship club Brighton & Hove Albion until the end of the 2005-06 season.
