Giftware

A type of software license that "gave" the software licensing to its user to be used for any purpose.
For example, the Allegro library for computer game development is licensed under a giftware license (available [here], on the official website). Users of the software are permitted to use it for any purpose (even commercially, as stated in the official FAQ [here]), but they are encouraged to give back a "gift" to the Allegro community - for example, by adding improvements to the library, or by releasing game source code they have written, so that others can learn something from it.
