Encyclopedia : G : GI : GIM : Gimnasia y Esgrima de Jujuy

Gimnasia y Esgrima de Jujuy is an Argentine of football (soccer) professional team from Jujuy founded in 1931, currently playing in first division.

The team, probably the most important football club in the northwest of Argentina, played most of the time in the Argentine second division, but has repeatedly reached the first division.

El Lobo Jujeno obtained the 1993/94 Nacional B (second division) championship, and played in first division until relegated in 2000. After a good 2004/2005 season, GYEJ finished in the second to Tiro Federal Argentino, reaching once again the first division.
