Boundaries
Glasgow Central was created in 1885 but was abolished in the 1995 review, but the name was revived for the 2005 review. In the review ahead of the 2005 general election, Glasgow suffered the brunt of the Scottish boundary changes, losing three seats. The new Central constituency is formed from five former seats; mainly Glasgow Govan, Glasgow Kelvin and Glasgow Shettleston and small parts of Glasgow Pollok and Glasgow Rutherglen.
It sits across the River Clyde, including the wards of Kelvingrove, Anderston, Merchant City, Calton, Pollokshields and Govanhill. This seat has the highest percentage of non-white population in Glasgow.
