Glasgow North is a constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It mostly replaced Glasgow Maryhill for the 2005 general election. The central sections of Glasgow Kelvin and Kelvindale from Glasgow Anniesland were included in the new seat.
Boundaries
Glasgow suffered from a loss of three seats in the major redistribution of constituencies, with this North seat formed from three. This seat has Glasgow University in its boundaries, and stretches out through Kelvindale to the large Summerston housing development. The largest element of this seat comes from Glasgow Maryhill constituency which was one of the mainly working class seats. The more middle class areas of Hillhead, Hyndland, Partick and Kelvindale were added at the reorganisation.Members of Parliament
