Overview

[It] was formed as loose volunteer based effort revolving around organizing Free Software resources and popularizing Free Software especially in collages and schools in and around Delhi.

Projects

Major stress was on developing skills in GNU/Hurd. Some of the people involved contributed heavily to GNU/Hurd. Official website till late used to be distribution point for Debian GNU/Hurd and Debian GNU/Linux CDs. Apart from that distributions, a documentation collection was also produced.

Merged

Gnu-India effort merged with [Free Software Foundation - India] after later got the official endorsement from [Free Software Foundation]
