Gnuppix is a
GNU operating system LiveCD running the
GNU Hurd on the
L4 microkernel. The latest release, 0503, consists of hurd-l4
CVS version 20050301 and L4-Pistachio 0.4. Gnuppix cannot currently run useful programs; it is restricted to the kernel and main servers. Another GNU LiveCD based on
GNU Mach is available from Superunprivileged.org (see external links). The GNU HURD system is incomplete, and it is recommended that desktop systems run
GNU/Linux instead.
Currently (June 2006) the Gnuppix site no longer exists.
