Culture

The people of Gobi are generally regarded warm and extremely hospitable. They are extremely superstitious like most rural Indian communities. The town is home to the Pariyur Kondathu Kaliamman Temple, a 5-acre (20,000 m²) Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Kaliamman (an incarnation of Kali). The town is known for its lush green spectacular paddy fields that extend to the horizon in 360 degrees. Gobi is strikingly different from other perky towns like nearby Erode.
