Godai Tomoyoshi (1539-1626) was a retainer under the Japanese clan of Shimazu. Tomoyoshi was a retainer under Shimazu Yoshihisa. At the Battle of Kizakihara during the year of 1572, Tomoyoshi fought under Shimazu Yoshihiro. During the battle he distinguished himself vastly, even capturing a certain commander. He then went on to serve during the Odawara Campaign of 1590.
