Goodna is a suburb on the eastern edge of the city of Ipswich. It is bounded to the north by the Brisbane River and surrounded by the suburbs of Wacol, Bellbird Park, Collingwood Park and Redbank.
The Goodna train station provides passenger rail services and the Ipswich Motorway bisects the suburb. The railway was opened in Goodna in 1875
Goodna feaures a lot of public housing and there is an annual Jacaranda festival. The Bremer Institute of TAFE has a campus in the suburb. The Western Spirit Football Club are based in Goodna.
Historically Goodna was a farming community. Primarily sugar, cotton, livestock (sheep and cattle), and also had a large local timber industry.
