Gothia

Gothia is a name given to various places where the Goths lived during their migrations:

  1. Götaland, the disputed original homeland of the Goths.
  2. Gothic Crimea, see Crimean Goths.
  3. the "Hispanic March", was frequently assigned in the late 8th century and 9th century to an area made up of formerly Visigothic lands south of the Pyrenees as well as in the north. (See Septimania).
  4. "Gothia Land" (in latin Gathia Launia), hypothetical origin of the name of Catalonia.
