The Government Economic Service (GES) is a civil service department in the UK.
It provides economic analysis services for government departments and is the largest employer of economists in the UK. Their website details the areas of work members are involved in for specific [government departments]. The nature of the GES means its employees are based all over the country in department offices.
The GES also offers paid summer and year long internships for UK students currently on an economics based course.
