Gröden (ger) - Val Gardena (ita) - Gherdëina (lad) is one of the five ladin valleys in South Tyrol. Its form of the ladin language is called "gardenese" in Italian, "grödnerisch" in German and "gherdëina" in Ladin.
The Villages
The valley is formed by three villages:
- Ortisei (ita) - St. Ulrich (ger) - Urtijëi (lad)
- S. Cristina (ita) - St. Christina (ger) - S. Crestina (lad)
- Selva di Val Gardena (ita) - Wolkenstein (ger) - Sëlva (lad)
Sports
Gherdeina has a hockey-team, the HCGardena[link], which plays in Serie A2 in Italy.Carolina Kostner is a famous figure skater. Cousin of Isolde Kostner, the as well famous ski-champion.
Pubs
Gherdëina has a lot of pubs and aprés ski. So there's a lot of fun for young people. The most known and attempted pubs are:
