Gradisca

Gradisca (officially Gradisca d'Isonzo, Friulian Gardiscje, Slovenian Gradišče) is a town of 6,600 inhabitants in the province of Gorizia, in the region Friuli, north-eastern Italy.
Although said to have been founded by the Venetians in the 15th century, the town name is a Slavic toponym, Gradišče being a Slovenian term indicating a site where buildings have been constructed.
