Gran Asunción (Greater Asunción in English), is the metropolitan area of the city of Asunción, which consists of the Capital and other surrounding cities such as San Lorenzo, Fernando de la Mora, Lambaré, Luque, Mariano Roque Alonso, Ñemby and Villa Elisa. The metropolitan area has more than 1.5 million inhabitants.
