Gray Lady Down

Gray Lady Down is a 1978 disaster film which starred Charlton Heston, Christopher Reeve, and David Carradine.

Plot

An aging, respected leader is on his final submarine tour before his retirement. The ship runs into a fishing trawler and sinks to the ocean floor. The sub is perched on the edge of a precipice, at an angle that does not allow the rescue submarine to complete its work.

A small submersible arrives on scene. This small submarine is very capable, but run by a nonconformist misfit. The submersible is the only hope for a rescue and pulls off a miraculous rescue.
