Groin

The
groin is the crease at the junction of the
torso with the
legs and the adjacent region that includes the external
genitals. The term may be used as an
euphemism for
genitals, since the names of the latter are
taboo words in some cultures.The term may also be used to describe a coastal engineering structure designed to prevent beach erosion and build the beach outward by slowing longshore sediment transport. This is sometimes confused with a
jetty, which is instead for protecting harbors, channels, or piers (see
groyne).
