Guangdong Southern Tigers

Guangdong Hongyuan Southern Tigers (广东宏远宝玛仕华南虎) or Guangdong Southern Tigers or Guangdong Hongyuan are the basketball team owned by the Guangdong Hongyuan Group playing in the South Division of the Chinese Basketball Association, based in Dongguan, Guangdong.
They won the CBA championship in the 2003–2004 and 2004–2005 and 2005–2006 seasons, and are thus the defending champions.
In the 2004–2005 season, the Guangdong Southern Tigers finished in second place in the South Division, defeated the Jilin Northeast Tigers in the quarter-finals and the Bayi Rockets in the semi-finals, and defeated the Jiangsu Dragons in the finals.
In the 2005–2006 season, the Guangdong Southern Tigers defeated the Bayi Rockets in the finals.
A key team member is Yi Jianlian, once and still may be considered a top prospect for the NBA draft.
