Gulf of Panama

The Gulf of Panama is a gulf in the Pacific Ocean, near the southern coast of Panama, having a maximum width of 250 km and maximum depth of 220 metres. The Panama Canal connects the Gulf of Panama, with the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
The gulf itself also contains a few minor gulfs (Panama Bay, Gulf of Parita and Gulf of San Miguel) and it has a few islands (Las Perlas Island, José Island, Rey Island, etc) and on the coast there are a few important ports, such Panama City, La Palma and Chitrè.
