The Guttmacher Institute (formerly the Alan Guttmacher Institute) is a research institute that provides global and U.S.-specific demographic statistics on reproductive matters such as birth control and abortion. It advocates for the wide availability of both and is associated with the pro-choice movement.
Guttmacher is named after a former president of Planned Parenthood, Alan Guttmacher. It has offices in both New York City and Washington, D.C.. As of 2004, it has an annual revenue of $6.9 million dollars, and expenses of $7.8 million, with an asset reserve of $16.9 million dollars. [link]
