H.T. Sangliana, a native of the Indian state of Mizoram, successfully ran for the seat of Bangalore North in the elections to the 14th Lok Sabha.

He is a decorated police officer, who joined the elite Indian Police Service and was allotted the Karnataka cadre. During his service as a police officer, he had an impressive record. After retiring, he ran for the seat of Lok Sabha.
