H. A . Berlin is an American neuroscientist focusing on brain-behavior relationships affecting the prevention and treatment of psychiatric disorders.

Background

Berlin received a D.Phil. in neuropsychology from University of Oxford and a M.P.H. in psychiatric epidemiology and heath care management/policy from Harvard University. Berlin earned an M.A in psychology from the New School and a B.S. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Berlin was a National Institute of Mental Health Postdoctoral Fellow in psychiatry at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, working on compulsive, impulsive, personality, and anxiety disorders.

Awards

Berlin recently received a Young Investigator Award from the American Neuropsychiatric Association and the National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder for research implicating orbitofrontal cortex dysfunction in patients with borderline personality disorder.

Career

Berlin is currently visiting assistant professor of psychology at Vassar College. Berlin's research has been published in such scientific journals as the American Journal of Psychiatry, Journal of Personality Disorders and Brain.
