HIFK (Helsingfors IFK or Helsingin IFK, originally Idrottsförening Kamraterna i Helsingfors) is a sports association from Helsinki, Finland that has activities in many sports, including ice hockey, football, bandy, floorball, handball, athletics and bowling. It is the oldest IFK club in Finland.

HIFK is best known for its men's ice hockey team, which plays in the SM-liiga. Their home games are played at Helsingin jäähalli.

History

Their club was established in Helsinki in 1897 as Idrottsförening Kamraterna i Helsingfors (IFK). The club undertook ice hockey activities after 1927. HIFK first began playing in the SM-liiga in the 1975-76 season and has won the SM-liiga championship title six times, the most recent as of May 2006 being in 1998.
