HMS Abdiel

HMS Abdiel has been the name of at least two Royal Navy ships.
- HMS Abdiel, a minelayer of the Abdiel class. She was launched on 23 April, 1940. On 10 September, 1943, she struck a mine and sank in a harbour in Taranto, Italy, while carrying troops. The mines had been laid only a few hours earlier, by two German motor torpedo boats as they escaped the harbour. She sank in three minutes, with heavy casualties.
- HMS Abdiel (N21). An exercise minelayer and minecountermeasures support ship. Completed 1967. Displacement 1,500 tons, 265 feet long with a beam of 38 feet and a complement of 77.
