HMS Montrose

HMS Montrose has been the name of two ships of the United Kingdom's Royal Navy. The ship's motto is "Mare ditat rosa decorat" (The sea enriches and the rose adorns). The ship is named after the port of Montrose and is strongly linked with the town and the region of Angus.
- The first HMS Montrose (1918) was a Scott-class destroyer-leader, commissioned in September 1918. She was actively involved in WWII. Montrose was decommissioned in 1946 and scrapped that same year.
- The second and current HMS Montrose (F236) is a Type 23 frigate. She was commissioned in 1994.
