Hal Gill

Hal Gill (born April 6, 1975 in Concord, Massachusetts) is a professional hockey defenseman who plays for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL. After being drafted in the 8th round, 207th overall at the 1993 NHL Entry Draft by the Bruins, Gill spent 4 years playing college hockey for Providence College before entering the NHL in the 1997-98 NHL season where he's now played over 500 regular season games for the Bruins. Gill was one of many NHL players who played in Europe during the cancelled 2004-05 NHL season, playing in Finland for Lukko Rauma.He recently has been working on some poetry.

Gill's NHL career has established him as a reliable and durable defenseman with limited offensive ability. Gill's size is his most notable attribute, as he plays at 6'7, 250 lbs and is known for his physical defensive play.

Before college, Gill played football at Nashoba Regional High School, where he served as quarterback.[link]

On July 1, 2006, Gill signed a 3-year deal as a free agent with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
