Hanako

Hanako is a female Japanese given name. The name can have different meanings, one of them being 花子, "flower girl." Additional ways are 瑛子 (crystal girl), 華子 (華 is a kanji of many uses - `splendor', `flower', `petal', `shine', `luster', `ostentatious', `showy' - it can noted. 'ko' is the second kanji, meaning 'girl (child)') 欣 (rejoice) and 桜子 (cherry child).
"Ko" (子) names are losing popularity in Japan, and so variations such as Hanaka (花佳, 花優) and Hanami (花心, 花美) may often used instead for babies born as of 2006.
