Hans Aumeier

Hans Aumeier (August 20 1906January 28 1948) was an official in Nazi Germany and a member of the SS with the rank of SS-Hauptsturmführer. He was commander of the Vaivara, Dachau, Klooga, Esterwegan, Lichtenburg, Buchenwald, Flossenbürg, Auschwitz, Riga and Grini concentration camps.

During the war, Aumeier was investigated by SS judge Georg Konrad Morgen and found guilty, although his sentence was commuted.

After the war, Aumeier was sentenced to death in Kraków on December 22, 1947 and executed by hanging on January 28 1948.
