Haora is a town in Haora district in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Geography

Haora is located at [22.59° N 88.31° E][Falling Rain Genomics, Inc - Haora]. It has an average elevation of 12 metres (39 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census^{[Geographic references#IndiaGRIndia]}, Haora had a population of 1,008,704. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Haora has an average literacy rate of 77%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 81%, and female literacy is 73%. In Haora, 9% of the population is under 6 years of age.
