Hara Toratane

(1497-1564) Before Hara Toratane joined the likes of Takeda Nobutora, he served as a vassal of the Chiba of Shimosa. He was counted among as one of Takeda Shingen's 24 elite generals.
During the year of 1521, Toratane assisted in the defeat of Fukushima Masashige. It is known that his reputation backed him up proving that he was one of the most skilled generals under the Takeda. Though ironically he deserted the Takeda to join the Hojo, in the year of 1553. But he was convinced to return shortly after to the Takeda. He fought during many battles in the Shinano Province. when fighting at Warikadake in 1561, He received so many wounds that he died of them three years later in 1564. But is known that in over 30 battles, he was wounded only around 50 times. After the death of Toratane, his title "Mino no kami", was passed on to the likes of one of the greatest Takeda retainers, Baba Nobufusa. Who was famed for never being injured during even one battle he ever fought in.
