Harding County is a county located in the U.S. state of South Dakota. As of 2000, the population is 1,353. Its county seat is Buffalo6.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 6,935 km² (2,678 mi²). 6,917 km² (2,670 mi²) of it is land and 18 km² (7 mi²) of it (0.26%) is water.Townships

There were 525 households out of which 35.00% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.50% were married couples living together, 5.30% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.80% were non-families. 31.00% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.50% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.50 and the average family size was 3.19.
In the county, the population was spread out with 32.50% under the age of 18, 4.40% from 18 to 24, 24.80% from 25 to 44, 24.80% from 45 to 64, and 13.40% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 104.70 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 102.00 males.
